AstrOmatic software

The AstrOmatic software suite currently comprises the following packages, which may be installed together or independently:
  • EyE: small image feature detector using machine learning
  • MissFITS: FITS file management
  • PSFEx: PSF modelling and quality assessment
  • SCAMP: Astrometric calibration and photometric homogenisation
  • SExtractor: Source extraction
  • SkyMaker: Image simulation
  • STIFF: automated image compositing and conversion
  • Stuff: Catalogue simulation
  • SWarp: Image regridding and co-addition
  • VisiOmatic: web-based image visualizer
  • WeightWatcher: weight-map/flag-map multiplexer and rasteriser
Note that other AstrOmatic packages may be in development or even in use at various places, but not yet officially available. Please check out this page for installation instructions.

New WeightWatcher 1.8.3 release available! This version fixes a number of bugs linked to FITS compatibility and provides the XSLT style-sheet for the XML output.

Thanks to jankoh for bug reports and solution testing.

Version 2.16.3 fixes a bunch of bugs, adds support for image lists, and a full XSLT style sheet for the output VO-Table.

WeightWatcher 1.8.0 release

New WeightWatcher 1.8.0 release available! This version contains new options and fixes old bugs.

In particular:

  • computes effective area in flag and weight maps (option GETAREA Y),
  • produces an output XML file summarizing the output products,
  • fixes a bug in using ds9 .reg files with MEF images,
  • allows to flag intersection of polygons,
  • allows to use fk5 coordinates in ds9 .reg files (for single extension images only).
