AstrOmatic software – Astromatic.net

The AstrOmatic software suite currently comprises the following packages, which may be installed together or independently:

EyE: small image feature detector using machine learning
MissFITS: FITS file management
SCAMP: Astrometric calibration and photometric homogenisation
SExtractor: Source extraction
SkyMaker: Image simulation
STIFF: automated image compositing and conversion
Stuff: Catalogue simulation
SWarp: Image regridding and co-addition
WeightWatcher: weight-map/flag-map multiplexer and rasteriser

Note that other AstrOmatic packages may be in development or even in use at various places, but not yet officially available. Please check out this post for installation instructions.

SCAMP V1.4.6 released. This version fixes an old bug which would allow saturated and cropped detections to appear in check-plots, giving “pessimistic” impressions on calibrations.

Version 2.17.0 improves performance and adds flux correction for variable pixel scales (FSCALASTRO_TYPE VARIABLE). Other improvements include:

support for reading selected FITS extensions for all input images/maps (e.g. image.fits[3] a la CFITSIO).
Added @lists support in all config-file and command-line arguments.
