STIFF packaging problem (config.log)
I encountered an other (small) issue.

the STIFF tarball contains an config.log file, which is system specific. A tarball should not contain such a file and make clean should cleanup such a file. This isn't a big issue, but makes packaging up STIFF as debian package a bit more difficult.

RE: STIFF packaging problem (config.log)
Hi gijzelaerr,

I produce the zipped archive with
Code:
make dist
and no
Code:
config.log
was included...

Could you check again, please?
Thanks,
Chiara

RE: STIFF packaging problem (config.log)
ok, I think I know what I did wrong, made a tarball myself after an autoconf.

it is not a big problem anyway, thanks.

so the problem actually is that 'make clean' doesn't remove the config.log file.

AFAIK 'make clean' should bring the folder layout in the original layout, like if was freshly extracted from the tarball.

RE: STIFF packaging problem (config.log)
Hi gijzelaerr,

I have checked the Makefile.am. We do not redefined 'make clean', so this is the default behaviour of 'clean' command.
As stated here, if you want to clean ./configure generated files you have to use 'make distclean'.

Have a nice day,
Chiara
