Combining single exposures into one MEF
Hi there,

I have a very simple problem: I want to join 10 CCD exposures into one single MEF file.
As the MissFITS manual suggests I am doing in the following way:

PHP Code:
missfits -default.missfits -OUTFILE_TYPE MULTI -SPLIT_SUFFIX AffTo_RH030925object058* -SAVE_TYPE NEW

but apparently, the program just works on 9 (out of 10) CCD images. In other words, there are 9 output images named as AffTo_RH030925object058*miss.fits whereas the input number was 10. Is this suppose to be normal?

I put my input data here, in case someone wants to help me:
http://www.usm.uni-muenchen.de/people/pat/missfits.input.tar

Thanks in advance!
Pat
all right, the link above is corrupted:

try this:

RE: Combining single exposures into one MEF
Hello Pat,
if you want to build a MEF from single images, MissFITS looks for images named <image_name>SPLIT_SUFFIX in order to output the image <image_name>.fits or <image_name>NEW_SUFFIX.fits .
You have to rename your images AffTo_RH030925object058* in AffTo_RH030925object058SPLIT_SUFFIX , where SPLIT_SUFFIX is defined in C format in the configuration file or in the command line: for example _%02d.fits means _01.fits , ... , _10.fits .
Then, you can run
Code:
missfits -c default.missfits -OUTFILE_TYPE MULTI -SPLIT_SUFFIX _%02d.fits -SAVE_TYPE NEW AffTo_RH030925object058
