inverse mapping
Dear colleagues,

I have a large database of Subaru images (ZPN projection) that I have combined with SWARP (into TAN projection) to make a deep stack. I have also SWARPed the input images one by one onto the same output grid as my stack and, by comparing to the stacked image, I have flagged the defects on the individual projected frames.

What I would like to be able to do now is to transfer the information about the defects back into the original (ZPN) images. Is anybody aware of software that can do this? Something like:

project input_image.fits reference_image.fits output_image.fits

I recently wrote a little program to do something similar between TAN and SIN projections using the wcslib package, but it looks substantially harder to implement in ZPN (and I would prefer not to spend a couple of days reinventing something that exists).
