distorsion and bg subtraction

I noticed that Swarp can deal with distortion using Fits keywords PV_xx_xx.
Does it recognize other keywords like CO_xx_xx.

Swarp can do internal bg subtraction. But sometimes I want to do bg subtraction
by myself before I put images through swarp. However, the User's Guide says
that the bg estimation is not only useful for bg subtraction, but also for other
tasks. So what other tasks need the bg estimation except weight calibration.

RE: distorsion and bg subtraction
Hi! And my deepest apologies for not having noticed your questions earlier.
- First question: No, currently SWarp only knows about PV_xx_xx parameters (and the former PROJPxxx variants). Support for SIP polynomials is planned for a not-too-distant-future, but this is it!
- Second question: Background estimation is required for weight calibration (and displaying statistics). Note that even if you deactivate background subtraction, background estimation is still performed. So you can safely use SUBTRACT_BACK N.
- Emmanuel.
